Best Practices in Pro Bono is a chance to share advice and tips for improving your pro bono program—with legal services, government, in-house, and law-firm pro bono coordinators from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
For our final Best Practices in Pro Bono Session of this season, we are bringing together the leaders of the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Task Force with pro bono stakeholders to discuss issues that the task force working groups are taking on. This is a unique opportunity to share the experiences and ideas of those working closest with pro bono attorneys so we all can better understand some of the challenges that are limiting pro bono volunteerism in our local courts. Join us to learn what the Pro Bono Task Force is doing, and how Bar leadership is hoping to engage its members more to increase pro bono services.
Our panelists for this conversation will be:
- Ron Flagg, Chair of the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Task Force, and Vice President and General Counsel of the Legal Services Corporation
- Meg McKinney, Chair of the Pro Bono Task Force Domestic Relations Working Group and Partner at Delaney McKinney LLP
- Rebecca Troth, Chair of the Pro Bono Task Force Housing Working Group and Executive Director of the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center
- Nancy Drane, Chair of the Pro Bono Task Force Appellate Working Group and Executive Director of the D.C. Access to Justice Commission
Our moderator is Paul Lee, Pro Bono Counsel at Steptoe LLP.
Continental breakfast and casual conversation will start at 8:45 am; the facilitated discussion will take place from 9–10:15 am.
