Washington Council of Lawyers is pleased to partner with the Women’s Bar Association of DC and the Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association (GWAC) to present Disrupting the Status Quo: DEI Strategies Across Businesses and Law Firms.

Many law firms and companies have recently heightened their focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within their organizations. At this event, a panel of DEI leaders in global corporations and law firms will discuss current DEI strategies and programs, what DEI program results they are seeing, and what DEI issues may require attention.

Our panelists include:

  • Shamala Govindan, Deputy General Counsel, HP
  • Erin Hess, Fellows Alumni Program Manager, Leadership Council on Legal Diversity
  • Lorraine McGowen, Partner, Orrick Herrington, Sutcliffe LLP
  • Scarlette Whyte, Director, Professional Development and Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives, CBS News Washington, DC (Viacom)

Join us to hear what is working, potential areas for additional action, and how companies and firms are seeking to achieve their DEI goals.
