Washington Council of Lawyers is pleased to co-host the DC Bar book talk and signing with award-winning journalist Elaine Weiss, author of the highly acclaimed book The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote. The event is the first in a series of programs the Bar will be presenting in the next few months leading up to its 2020 Conference: 100 Years of the 19th Amendment.
Weiss will discuss her book and one of the greatest political battles in American history: the ratification of the 19th Amendment. Hailed as a “riveting, nail-biting political thriller” with powerful parallels to today’s political environment. The Woman’s Hour is currently being adapted for the small screen through a partnership between Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg.
The event takes place at the Bar’s headquarters, 901 4th Street NW. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the lecture begins at 5:30, followed by the book signing and reception. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Co-sponsored by the Energy Bar Association, Inter-American Bar Association, Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association, and Women’s Bar Association.
