Patrick McGlone exemplifies the values of excellence, commitment to justice, and dedicated community service. He is a worker, a joiner, and a true trailblazer in the legal world. For his leadership and inspiration to the legal profession and the DC community, we are proud to recognize Pat with the 2023 Justice Impact Awards Corporate Counsel Award.

Pat currently serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Ullico, Inc. He joined Ullico in 2002, serving as litigation counsel, then becoming Vice President and Deputy General Counsel in 2008, before being promoted to his current role in 2012. He is also President of the Ullico Foundation, which funds scholarships to university students from underrepresented, disadvantaged, and minority communities.

Before his tenure at Ullico, Mr. McGlone had honed his legal expertise as in-house counsel at U.S. Office Products Company and Mobil Corporation. He also gained invaluable experience as a commercial litigator at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the law firm of Hunton & Williams LLP. His diverse background and rich experience equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of corporate law and the challenges it presents. Simply put, he is an excellent corporate lawyer.

What sets Pat apart from other outstanding corporate lawyers is his commitment to the public-interest community. His passion for promoting a fair and equitable legal system is exemplified by his involvement in various legal organizations and civic endeavors. He served as the President of the District of Columbia Bar for the 2017-2018 term, demonstrating his leadership and dedication to the legal community. Pat has also been an active member of the American Bar Association and served as a board member of the DC Bar Foundation. He served as Vice President of the Council for Court Excellence, a non-partisan organization dedicated to enhancing DC’s justice system. Pat has served the legal community well, building connections, advocating for access to justice, and bringing people together.

In addition, Pat has actively supported non-legal community organizations. He served on the Board of Directors of Us Helping Us, People Into Living, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to providing HIV/AIDS testing, prevention, and counseling services to the African-American community. His community involvement has been recognized through the Us Helping Us Chairman’s Award, the Outstanding Community Service Award of the Association of Corporate Counsel National Capital Region chapter, a Champions and Visionaries Award from the National Law Journal/Legal Times, and the Legal Champion Award of the Washington Business Journal.

For all of these reasons, we are thrilled to congratulate Pat McGlone on receiving the first ever 2023 Justice Impact Award for Corporate Counsel.
