Applications Now Open for Our 2024-2025 Mentoring Program!
For almost 20 years, Washington Council of Lawyers has helped new advocates get involved in the D.C. public-interest community. As it was from the beginning, the Mentoring Program is a wonderful opportunity for newer lawyers to build relationships in this vibrant community early in their careers and grow valuable leadership skills. The important relationships and substantive programming help young lawyers grow personally and professionally. The Mentoring Program is a vital component of Washington Council of Lawyers’ mission, and the perfect opportunity for new and seasoned lawyers to build vital networks.
Mentees are new to the practice of law (0-3 years of legal experience) and are interested in making meaningful connections with experienced law firm, non-profit, and government lawyers. Mentees must also be members of Washington Council of Lawyers by the time of their application submission and have graduated law school by December 2024. All mentees are expected to attend Mentoring Program events and to connect monthly with their mentor via a Mentoring Program event, in-person meeting, video chat, phone, email, or other means. You can view the full schedule of events here.
