We enjoyed the mentoring program so much that we agreed to coordinate it this year. And our first job is to recruit a great class of mentors for the 2015–2016 mentoring year.

We’re looking for experienced lawyers (five years or more of practice) from public-interest organizations, government agencies, or law firms. If you fit this description and are interested in getting to know a new public-interest lawyer, please join us as a mentor this year.

If you have been a mentor before, we welcome your participation again this year. If you have not been a part of the mentoring program before, this is a great time to get started.

As a mentor, you’ll be expected to meet individually with your mentee at least three times during the program year. We’ll also ask you to attend three additional events, unless you have an unavoidable conflict: (1) Speed Mentoring, on November 17, 2015, where you’ll meet your mentee and other participants; (2) a lunch event, on January 12, 2016, where mentees and mentors will break up into small groups to discuss setting short-term and long-term career goals; and (3) our closing event, tentatively scheduled for May 12, 2016, where members of the mentee class will get a chance to talk to you and the other mentors.
